Top Tips for Making Gluten Free Cajun Recipes

The best tip for making gluten free Cajun recipes is to take your time making each one. Classic Cajun recipes were created over slow, simmering fires and in low-temperature ovens, y'all.

These recipes were developed by Cajun people many years ago to transform the humble ingredients that they had on hand into truly special family meals.

Therefore, these allergen-friendly Cajun recipes must be given the same care and attention to be truly authentic dishes. Start by doing as much of the prep work as you can for the recipes the night before. This will shave a lot of time and new recipe creation stress when you are ready to make each dish.

Finally, have fun with it! Gluten free Cajun cooking is truly amazing. And, with each dish you make it gets easier and easier. So, let go and throw your heart into it. Every dish will love you right back. For sure!

Essential Ingredients

Most of my recipes use my personally created Trinity Roux™

It's a slightly unorthodox way of making roux, but it works, y'all!! My roux gives many of my gluten free Louisiana recipes their authentic taste and texture. And, the only special ingredient that you need is tapioca flour or arrowroot starch. You can pick these up on Amazon.

Or, you can use cornstarch if you're just gluten free, not grain free, as well.

You'll also need to get really familiar with the Cajun trinity veggies of onion, bell pepper, and celery. Otherwise, the rest of the ingredients called for in my recipes are the same as in the traditional south Louisiana dishes

Happy gluten free Cajun recipes cooking, y'all!!
