Desserts in the South Louisiana food culture are rich, delectable dishes that put the perfect finishing touches on the unforgettable meals the area is known for.
Some of my favorite desserts include bananas Foster bread pudding, old-fashioned Cajun cake, and crustless sweet potato pie.
However, the one that's closest to my heart is my gluten free king cake, my original version of the classic Mardi Gras dessert that is eaten in the area from the feast of the Epiphany until the end of the Carnival Season.
